[She can't disagree with Eleanor there. There's a lot in Han's mind that she honestly does not want to know, as much as she loves him. But with that input, she feels she may as well press forward with an actual answer--kind of--to her question. Maybe not the entire explanation, since there were things even Leia couldn't adequately explain, and there's more than just how he treats her as a person rather than a title that attracts her to Han, but enough to satisfy Eleanor's curiosity.]
Han is a person that doesn't care much for title or decorum. It's a big contrast to how I was generally treated back home.
[and as much as it frustrated her at first, she's grown to like it, since not many people see her as just "Leia." She's either a princess or higher ranking member of the rebellion or anything else than just a person.]
[Even the little bit that she imparts is enough to shed a little light on that matter for Eleanor, particularly given her own lesser-talked about background. She's still smiling, though she drops the teasing as she nods to the explanation.]
Ah, yes... it sounds like he's able to pierce right through to who you are, without letting what you might represent get in the way. As long as he respects you, I can certainly understand why that's appealing.
[Poe is glad that the door opens and Leia is there. He smiles back before rubbing the back of his neck a little. Finn had been worried but Poe managed to come back. But he would have came back knowing that what was said to Finn was true. However, his hopeful spirit was a little renewed when he went back.]
He is. At least we know what certain things mean when we leave from here. I still can't explain how I came back with my sidekick though.
[BB-8 glances from Leia to Poe.] Wrrrr! Beep bleep boop. [The beeps sound a little sad and curious at the same time.]
He's still a little confused with this planet and how it works. This is Beebee-Ate. He's a bb unit but still an astromech. He pretty much makes sure I keep flying straight. Plus he helps with me in missions too.
[BB-8 gives a few more beeps before rolling up to Leia. He gives a happy couple of beeps in greeting.] Bleep beep beep boop!
[She repeats his name, her gaze dropping from Poe back to the droid before her. She reaches out to place a hand on top of BB-8's head as a way to greet him. It's been a long time since she's seen any sort of droid from home, and seeing BB-8 makes her miss her own little smart-mouthed astromech.]
I wouldn't worry too much, Beebee-Ate. I don't think there's anyone here who isn't still a bit confused about how things work here.
[Because even having been here for this many months, Leia still encountered things regularly that confused her or made her stop and think over things.
After greeting BB-8, Leia steps aside to make room for Poe and his droid to enter the house.]
[BB-8 beeps back at her as she repeats his name. When the hand is on top of his head a bit of a purring comes out as he rolls slowly back and forth happily at it. He comes to attention as she speaks to him. There's a small beep as he looks back up towards Poe.]
Thank you for letting us in. And thanks for the gifts. The gloves came in handy to finish up some of the other gifts.
[Because there were some gifts that would take time to make. Poe enters the house first and BB-8 follows after him beeping up at Leia before rolling a little further in. But not just further in he rolls around the first room looking around.]
Here. I wanted to give you these. [He hands over the metal tin first.] There's cookies inside that everyone can have unless you want to be greedy. This is for you though. [He then gives over the leather bag.] Open it for the gift.
[BB-8 is free to explore around the room as much as he wants. Most everything is clean, aside from the usual junk pile slowly making its return from whenever Leia cleaned it last. It's mostly spare parts and things for airships, most likely. Whatever junk Han picks up and deems worthy enough to keep.
Leia meanwhile accepts both of Poe's gifts with a smile, opening the tin of cookies to get a look at them briefly before closing it in favor of taking the leather bag from Poe.]
You didn't have to bring gifts, but thank you. I'll make sure that Han and Luke don't eat all the cookies themselves.
[let's be honest, it's Han she's worried about here. She opens the leather bag and takes a look inside. What could it be?]
[BB-8 does in fact explore as he comes upon the junk pile he becomes curious over it. He gives that familiar little beep as he stays next to it looking at all the pieces. That was still a lot of junk and most of it would be useful.
Poe smiles as Leia accepts the gifts. He gives a small shrug as he watches her examine the leather bag.]
The one gift was already being made. The cookies were extra. [The Poe and Finn Residence would have a lot of cookies. Poe was trying to make different ones but didn't realize what they would mean in the end.] If they do, I have more but I'll make sure to keep it to a half tin full.
[There's a wide smile on his face as he goes over to BB-8 as she looks into the bag.] Yeah, Beebee-Ate, the junk pile is impressive.
[The bag will have a copper metal ball. But if she looks close there's a pin at the top. Once she touches that pin, the ball will slowly start to unfold making soft ticking noises. The outsides will slowly turn outward before folding out and blooming into a mechanical flower. The petals will be a silver color metal, with some of the leaves painted white. If she clicks the pin again it'll go back into a metal ball and no one would know what it really was.]
If you're both interested in that, you should try speaking with Han about it. Whatever he's saving this for, having the help of a droid might be something he's interested in.
[But she's not even sure about that, given half the time Han doesn't seem too fond of most droids. But at the very least, more people to talk to about his junk hoarding habits and whatever he wants to do with it can't hurt.
Leia does indeed notice the pin at the top as she turns the ball over in her hands, and with a cursory glance up at Poe, Leia pushes it. Had it come from anyone other than Poe (and a few obvious others), she wouldn't have trusted the suspicious pin as readily. But it's Poe, and she does trust him, so she's sure it's safe.
She watches, intrigued as the ball unfolds itself into an intricate mechanical flower. It's something she's not sure she would've been able to see back home--the technology being something very much native to this place--and that's part of why she appreciates it. Rather than turning the pin again, Leia leaves the flower open in her hands, her attention turning back to Poe.]
It's beautiful, Poe. Thank you. Where did you find this?
Oh, have we? [Of course they had been, because she had wanted it that way.] I suppose I've been... fine, all things considered.
[The arm. Living under the natives' scorn with Pride back in town. Issues with her husband that she hadn't spoken about. That amounted to "fine" these days, as much as she had gotten used to it.] I had been thinking of taking a trip down to Shaarnath sometime, and see how it is there for myself...
[Leia frowns--just barely--at the hesitation before Eleanor responds with "fine." Because it sounds to her that perhaps things weren't just fine, and she didn't want to share details. But before Leia can press the issue, Eleanor presses on with her comment about Shaarnath, so the moment to say anything has passed.]
If you'd like, I don't mind visiting Shaarnath with you sometime. There's a lot down there I still haven't seen.
Well, I haven't a complaint about the weather save what it does to my garden, but I had been considering the change of atmosphere.
[Which meant, there would be less people to immediately form a judgement about her on sight, depending on how much news was spread about certain incidents involving her son here.] And perhaps getting samples of some of the food. [Given Pride's interest in it and all, not that she wanted to bring his name up where it could be overheard.] I have to keep myself from getting so used to my own ways that I neglect that there are other sights out there within reach.
[Leia, on the other hand, while relieved, is a bit surprised at how quickly Ezra seems to have found his saber. As well as the distinct lack of the word "found." because saying he got it back is a bit different than saying he found it.]
It's an important thing to keep in mind, especially with our unique situation here. Being guests of this world, we can't allow ourselves to forget our reality here and get lost in routine.
[It's something that Leia occasionally has trouble remembering, given all the drama with her family here, but she does her best to keep it in mind.]
[Whatever you want to call him, there's worry creeping back up in Leia's response. Not just because of Anakin and Ezra's last encounter, but because Anakin in general makes her wary.]
I took it apart and put it back together, and Master Kenobi looked at it, too, when I went to talk to him. Nothing's wrong with it. He just...
[Ezra grumbles something under his figurative breath. Really, it's probably garbled because he's not sure if he actually wants to communicate it to Leia or not.]
[There's a reluctant silence for a very long moment before Ezra finally gives in. It's just not something he wants to admit, but he can't tell Leia what's really bothering him here unless he tells her the whole story.]
He fixed a power imbalance. My design's a little different from normal lightsabers. I'm not very good at deflecting blaster fire yet, so I wanted a ranged component that I could use to buy myself time. Unfortunately, that meant wiring the power source to basically two different weapons. Even if I'm only using one at a time, it always felt like there was a chance it might short circuit. Except now the problem's gone.
I didn't know lightsabers could be built that way.
[Not that she knows much about how standard lightsabers work beyond what Galen and Kylo have told her in the past. But she's silent for a moment as she takes in his response and thinks over what it might mean. Whatever the case is, she doesn't really trust it, always thinking the worst of anything Anakin might do.]
