[The question drew a long pause.]

I don't know.

[He too didn't want Ben to have it. But he also knew that telling the Enforcers could complicate things even more. Then again he was kind of obligated to because of his duty. Leia would likely feel Obi-Wan's own conflicted feelings through the link.]

I did threaten to, yet now I'm uncertain.

[oratorical]

[She does, and she understands where he's coming from. And in fact, it's almost a relief to feel that Obi-Wan is on her side about this, about Ben.]

Reporting it will only make things worse for Ben. This aside, he's been cooperating with his punishment and behaving as best he can.

[And somehow she knows he'll find a way to place blame on her, or accuse her of being happy about it if it gets out.]

[He cares about Ben much like he does Anakin. He doesn't like that he's been put into this position.]

I know, and yet if something does happen, part of the blame will fall on me for having known.

[Ben might be cooperating now, but who is to say what will happen down the road? There might even be another incident where he goes out of control against his will. Which wouldn't be his fault but he would have weapons available to him. Then the loth-cat will be out of the bag in the worst way.]

[oratorical]

[She knows, and that's the hard part. Because as much as she doesn't want Ben to get back on the bad side of the Enforcers for all this, she similarly doesn't want Obi-Wan in trouble for not immediately confiscating the lightsaber.]

Do you think he'll talk with you about it if you try again?

[Because she knows for a fact he won't talk to her.]

I do think it's possible. Though not right now as I would be the walking plague. But I hope he is taking this time to think about it.

[He would very much like to give Ben every opportunity as he does Anakin. But how long to wait is the real question. For now he had to focus on getting well.]

[oratorical]

[She's concerned about the situation with Ben, about Poe's behavior, about all that. But she's just as concerned with the remark about Obi-Wan being the walking plague.]

Are you not feeling well?

I seem to have caught something. It's nothing serious.

[Leave it to Obi-Wan to call himself the walking plague and then downplay it in his next breath.]

[oratorical]

[Sorry, Obi-Wan, she's calling you out.]

You just said you felt like the walking plague.

[hadthehighground]

Well... yes. But nothing a bit of rest won't cure.

[Sheepish Jedi is sheepish.]

[oratorical]

Do you need me to bring you anything?

[It's odd, because it's the opposite of what she expects from dealing with Han and his over-exaggerating his sickness to get more attention from her. But she doesn't want Obi-Wan pretending he'll be fine when he won't.]

I appreciate the offer, but I'll be fine. I have a whole house of people here should I need anything. No need to trouble yourself.

[Obi-Wan is pretty much the polar opposite of Han.]

[oratorical]

[Well. He's not wrong. But that doesn't stop the worry leaking through from Leia's side of the connection.]

At least promise me that should you need it, you won't hesitate to ask for help.

[There was a pause for a moment.]

Actually... something decent to eat might help.

[Because none of the people in the house can cook worth anything.]

[oratorical]

[She's satisfied with that answer, that Obi-Wan isn't just planning on suffering in his sickness or anything.]

I'll bring something by for you soon.

[Food she's mostly bought, not made. She doesn't trust her cooking skills enough to make something for Obi-Wan while he's already sick.]

[Now he has to get himself up and downstairs to meet her and not look like death entirely. But hey... food that isn't made by Anakin is worth that.]
