[while the color hasn't faded from her cheeks, his smug amusement is enough to make Leia huff in mild annoyance. Even though she knows it's probably exactly what he wants, she's too flustered, dealing with too many emotions resulting from Han being here and not in jail to be able to keep up a good poker face at the moment.]
Fortunately, neither do you.
[because she already saw his when making this room a cleaner, more civilized looking livable space. But after a short pause, in a softer tone, she adds--]
You're okay with this?
[because it's true, she didn't ask him beforehand, she just assumed it would be fine, largely because she wanted to be here more than anywhere else. She wants to be close to him, and she knows he feels the same, but... time differences.]
[Leia keeps her gaze focused on Han, looking for any sign of discomfort or hint that he's not fine with this and is saying it to spare her feelings. Not that Han has ever been one to be quiet with his opinions, even ones that hurt her in the past, but that doesn't stop her from searching anyway.
And she was about to say something to that effect, but then he asks that question, and Leia's brain stalls for just the briefest moment.]
What did I think?
[she repeats it, incredulous, like she can't believe he's really asking this right now. Even though she really should've guessed and really can believe he's asking this right now.]
[he huffs a laugh at her response, though she's taking this a little more seriously than he would have expected her to given the circumstances. she chose to put her stuff in there, so surely she expected him to go along with it? unless...]
You weren't plannin' to move all that stuff out of there before I got back, were you?
[he says it teasingly, but that element she's been looking for is lurking behind his expression now. caution, like maybe he was reading too much into it this whole time and she was just...taking the nicest room in the house, or something, and was going to sneak back out before he got released.]
[her response comes almost immediately, before she even really registers that insecurity lurking in his expression. She may not have known how to really bring it up with him, but as long as he wasn't upset with the prospect, she was planning on staying in this room with him. It's comfortable here, and it means she gets to be close to him. Both of which are important.
She offers a small, almost relieved smile as she reaches out for his hand. And after a moment, perhaps for the sake of preempting arguments or to further prove she's serious about wanting to stay here with him, she adds--]
[which of course means she was free to spread out all over the bed as much as she wanted. A dangerous precedent, Han will soon find out.]
I think it's more than large enough for both of us.
[which, while her voice is steady, almost slightly teasing in fact, brings a hint of color back to her face as she admits it. As with before, of course, she's pointedly ignoring the heat in her face.]
[more like leia will soon find out...after she shoves him off the bed a few times and he learns the octopus maneuver.
in contrast to her blush, han looks a mixture of delighted and proud, like damn. he didn't realize they were here and yet, behold, a hot young princess has set up camp in his bed. he leans into her, smiling and obviously enjoying this mixture of assertiveness and embarrassment she's employing.]
And what if I prefer the left side?
[...he feels like he won't care so much what side he's on as long as he's got leia to curl up with, but she's just too easy to wind up.]
[in contrast to much of the time they've known each other, Leia doesn't draw back as Han leans in. She stands her ground, even leaning toward him ever so slightly. It really betrays the teasingly matter of fact sort of feel she's going for when she replies.]
[she doesn't protest or draw away as Han wraps his arm around her. She likes his arm there, she likes being this close with him, but even that fondness can't prevent her from wrinkling her nose slightly. Because it's not necessarily a bad smell, it's just stale and slightly musty and not at all what she was expecting.]
I think first you'll need to change into something else.
[he takes his arm back huffily, apparently finding her judgment of how he smells a mood killer. however this does not keep him from sniffing suspiciously at his jacket before making a face, not of disgust but of irritation.]
[he sighs, not bothering to hide his annoyance, but then straightens his back.]
Fine, I will then.
[he stiffens up like he's going to turn and stalk off, but at the last second he leans in instead, planting a pointed but somewhat sloppy kiss on her lips before he disappears in the direction of the bathroom.]
[Well, she certainly wasn't expecting him to turn back and kiss her. Not when he was as visibly annoyed as he was. Leia freezes, just for the briefest of moments, before leaning in to the kiss.
But of course, before she can really lean in, Han breaks away, leaving her there leaning toward where he had been standing. With a huff of annoyance, Leia rolls her eyes, going back to whatever she had been doing before Han came home. Just as she promised, though, she'll still be in their room by the time Han is finished with his shower.]
[han does his business, towels off, and only then realizes that in his huff the only clothes he brought with him to the bathroom were the clothes on his back. and he's not putting them back on, as now that he's smelled their staleness he can never unsmell it. if leia's looking in the right direction she will get to see him lean around the door, bare-chested and a dead serious expression on his face, before realizing she's there and quickly disappearing back into the bathroom. a short yet suspiciously long amount of time later, let's say a minute or so, he cautiously exits the bathroom with a towel tied around his waist. like, he's trying to be casual, but there is no good way to play this off.
he pauses in the bedroom, squinting at leia with his hands on his hips and trying not to look too out of his element. it's different with leia, dammit.]
What?
[that's right, he assumes she has something to say about it and he's going to get it out of the way up front.]
[She doesn't see Han directly as he peers around the door, it's more that she catches him as he's already pulling back and disappearing into the bathroom. Leia frowns at the empty space where Han had been standing. She's not sure what that's all about. But when he finally reappears, it's a bit more obvious what his hesitation might have been tied to.
Leia can't help letting her gaze roam over him for the briefest of moments, before she catches herself and forces her gaze to stay focused on his face. Logically she knows she has no reason to be embarrassed by any of this, but logic can't stop that color from returning to her cheeks as she returns his stare.]
[He should probably be flattered, given how obviously she's trying to keep her gaze fixed on his face. Because looking away means that he wins and has free reign to tease her, and looking at him anywhere else means the same. It's really a no-win situation for her here.]
What didn't I have to say?
[Well, she knows what he'll probably say, but she wants to hear him say it, or something.]
[he studies her for a moment, feeling increasingly amused by her unwavering gaze but somehow managing to keep his serious face on.]
Somethin' about how stupid this towel looks, no doubt. [and after just enough of a pause that she might think she got away with something--] Do I got somethin' on my face?
[the pause did indeed lure her into... perhaps not a sense that she'd gotten away with a win here, but at least the sense that Han might've been gentlemanly enough to not say anything. But of course, those hopes are dashed the instant he opens his mouth again. It's that question that finally gets Leia to avert her gaze from him. It's not like this is something ever covered in etiquette classes. She can stare down senators and imperial officers with ease, but this is different. She knows she shouldn't be awkward about it all, and that Han probably doesn't mind but--]
[ok, on the one hand he feels a little bad, but on the other hand this is a priceless moment that he is going to savor forever.]
I don't mind.
[he says with all the suaveness he possesses, before deciding it's time to be the bigger man and dropping the towel. don't mind him, he's just gonna start rummaging through the dresser drawers until he finds underwear. nothing to see here...wait a minute. plenty to see here, don't move along, that would make him feel kind of bad.]
[and all the suaveness he possesses has the magical effect of causing Leia to roll her eyes, even as flustered as she is at the moment. But when he decides to drop his towel, she does indeed stare, partially for the sake of staring and partially in disbelief, because of course he has to be frustrating at all moments. It's the Han Solo way.
Leia pulls her gaze after a moment, to look for and grab a pair of Han's underwear that hadn't been put away where it should've been. And of course, as soon as they're in hand, she proceeds to toss them in his direction. At the very least she's back to looking at him when she throws it, having given up by now on the futile effort to both not look and keep the color from showing in her face.]
[he grins at her shamelessly as he catches the underwear, because of course he was watching her watch him from the corner of his eye. her reactions are just too good not to.]
I can leave'em off if you want. I don't mind going, uh, all natural.
[she isn't sure whether to roll her eyes again or whether he wants her to say if she prefers he sleep with or without underwear on. But before she can do either of those, a different realization comes to mind, because honestly she doesn't know. There was really no time to find out much of Han's sleeping habits before, or at least not his normal habits. Because he must have been on better behavior on the trip to Bespin, so that they wouldn't wind up fighting constantly.]

So, what'd you think of my particulars?
