[because it's not that he doesn't enjoy hanging out with her, it's just that he's hitting his limit for deep conversation, at least when it relates to his faults.]

If this is going to be something that keeps coming up with you, I'd like to get past it now.

[She has her own worries when it comes to her relationship with Han, even keeping in mind the fact that they have a son in the future, but for now, they're working on Han.]

We've discussed it one time, what makes you think it's gonna come up again? Unless you really do have some kind of ex-boyfriend you think might show up?

[well, if such a person exists then apparently it's possible for them to show up, but han is feeling a little defensive over the implication that he would get hung up over this again, regardless of how true or untrue the sentiment is.]

[oratorical]

[Leia doesn't respond right away, instead searching his expression and seeing how far she wants to go with this questioning. because she knows he's being stubborn about this because he doesn't want to talk about it, and she's made her side of the conversation abundantly clear. Or she thinks it's clear enough, anyway. After a moment or two, she sighs before responding.]

If it comes up again, we'll discuss it then. But whatever you're worried about, I don't want you to be. I love you, Han.

[And to punctuate that point, she leans in to kiss his lips. It's not as if him being insecure about her feelings about him hasn't happened before, and she does have a feeling it won't be the last. So, if just words won't make her point, maybe actions will help.]

[as usual, she manages to surprise him with physical affection, even though you'd think he'd be used to it by now. once he gets over the shock he happily returns the action, leaning into her to lengthen the kiss. he looks fairly pleased when he pulls away, too, a stark change from his guarded look from before.]

Right, got it. [wait no, that's not the right response here.] I love you too.

[there, nailed it. they're done talking about the stuff he doesn't want to talk about and he got a kiss, clearly he is a winner in this situation. suck on that, jabba the hutt!]
