That's the only thing you've been talking about. While I don't mind giving advice, talking about your laundry and whether it smells or not isn't a conversation I wanted to have. Especially out of nowhere.

It could be Force-related, I guess. It's happened with Luke before.

[lothrat]

[Ezra makes a frustrated noise.]

[Well that sort of clues Leia in on at least part of what might be happening here--]

I didn't mean to send that to you. But you heard it?

Well, yeah, but... But I wasn't even trying to use the Force.

Did she use it herself by accident? She's not really trained, after all.

[oratorical]

I've known how to guard my thoughts for ages without being trained, Ezra. Although here is slightly different, admittedly.

[lothrat]

[There's a small jolt of surprise.]

Wait, you think it's something with this place?

[With that, Ezra might be on to something. Possibly.]

If it's not the Force, then it has to be that. But this sort of thing hasn't happened here before.

[lothrat]

So, what, now we even have to watch our thoughts?

Damn it! How am I supposed to do that?

[oratorical]

You'll have to try to not think anything rude for a few days. Think you can manage being friendly?

[She's teasing. Mostly.]

Of course I can be friendly. I'm friendly all the time!

[In his opinion, anyway.]

But that's because I know how to keep from saying things. That doesn't mean I'm not thinking them. How am I supposed to help what I think? Just avoid everyone and meditate for the rest of however long this lasts?

[oratorical]

I suppose avoid thinking negative thoughts connected with someone's name. That way if it gets sent to someone unintentionally, they won't know who you mean.

[That's something she's planning to do at least. Because she knows she's going to have the same problem as Ezra with this.]

Unless it happens while already conversing over the amulets.

[lothrat]

[Ezra groans audibly.]

Okay, new plan. Find someone I want to tick off and think bad things about them all I want.

Or think bad things about someone no one likes.

Bet I could think up some creative insults about Governor Tarkin...

If you're thinking up insults about Tarkin, I'd like to hear those.

[He's like in a three way tie for Leia's most hated enemy, after all. Insulting Tarkin sounds like a fun pass-time.]

Okay, how about this, then? Bet you didn't know he came from a dark, slimy pit. That's why they call him Tar-kin.

[oratorical]

[Good one, Ezra. There's a tangible wave of amusement from Leia's side at that, and she's not even remotely sorry for it.]

That'd explain why it looks as if he's never seen the light of any star from atmosphere.

[lothrat]

[That amusement is the best feeling in the world, and he's more than happy to feed it.]

More like they dug him up from under a rock somewhere. I mean, I know that being a Moff is supposed to be full of grave business, but isn't that going a little to the extreme?

[oratorical]

Are we sure he's not a Veermok? I've heard the ones on Eriadu look different from the more common species.

[lothrat]

Right personality, I guess, but not enough fangs. He's a bit scrawny for a Veermok, too.

[LOOK WHO'S TALKING.]

Though I guess by that reasoning, he's not feathery enough to be a Clawbird.

[oratorical]

Perhaps he's molted? He's always had a pointed look about his face.

[lothrat]

You're right! It's so obvious! He's always been about as fowl as they come!

[oratorical]

In both behavior and stench. It's easy to tell if he's in the area.

[lothrat]

At least we won't be caught off guard if he ever turns up here.

[oratorical]

I can't think of anywhere deserving of him we could send him once here, though. Let's just hope he remains dead back home instead.
