[There had been a bit of an incident among some of those that had come from their galaxy. Something that Obi-Wan has been thinking on for a few days now. Something he decided he wanted to discuss with Leia. But in light of her recent wedding, he decided to wait.

But one day when he thought she might be less busy, or so he hoped, she would feel a certain presence reaching out to her through the amulets.]

Hello Leia.

I hope I'm not disturbing you. But I was wondering if you would be able to tell me a bit about Poe Dameron. You have a connection with him don't you?

[She can't quite mask her confusion at Obi-Wan's question, because Leia has no idea why this is something Obi-Wan is asking her now. She hasn't spoken with or heard much about Poe--aside from his occasional amulet broadcasts, which were ignored on her end--since she found out he was the one to tell Anakin. And as much as she likes keeping tabs on people from their galaxy, to know what's going on, with Poe, she's been happier not checking on him.

It was sad, in a way, because she had thought Poe to be a good friend before this. He was reliable, he was comfortable to be around, and he was someone she would've thought she could work well with. But his leaking secrets made Leia doubt everything she thought she knew about him, about their working relationship in the future, and about whether he actually cared about her in any way.

When she responds, her tone is restrained, a measured sort of calm that's very much reflective of how she was raised to present a neutral face to others even when it's hard, rather than of the more freely open version of her that Obi-Wan has been getting to know since they made up.]

According to him and the others from Ben's time, Poe Dameron is a member of the Resistance. He reports directly to me, or so I've heard.

[Obi-Wan himself actually had liked Poe as well. They had a good conversation about a year ago during that flower festival. But lately things have changed a bit. It was disappointing to be sure.]

I see.

Forgive me, I would ask Ben but we are not on the best of terms currently. Plus speaking about him to Rey would only upset her further.

There has been a bit of an incident.

[Well. She's not sure what she expected, but she's not sure it was that.]

Do you mind elaborating?

[Obi-Wan hesitates for a moment, but decides to go ahead.]

I don't know how well you knew Finn, but he departed Verens sometime last month.

Poe took it upon himself to give Ben the lightsaber he left behind without consulting anyone else.

Yes, I'm aware. Finn was a good friend, to both me and Han.

[And there's a twinge of sadness at that, that Leia can't hold back. She genuinely did like Finn. He'd been nothing but kind and helpful to the both of them.

But once that's out, Leia pauses, running Obi-Wan's words over in her mind a few times before responding]

He did what?

[That was... pretty much the first thing Obi-Wan said when he found out as well.]

Rey asked Poe about it just before your wedding and refused to tell her where it was.

Needless to say my house was in a bit of an uproar as a result. It wasn't until I confronted him about it that he finally confessed.

I doubt it will be a comfort to you, but taking action without consulting others and with little regard for the consequences seems to be the norm for Poe Dameron.

[She should be more... diplomatic about this all, but she can't help letting some of that hurt leak through in her words, and in the emotions accompanying them. Because she did genuinely like Poe, he was a good friend. But he had broken her trust in a way that still hurt to think of, and she couldn't understand why he did it in the first place.]

[Again there was a pause as Obi-Wan's slightly feverish mind processed that. Yes he's sick. Laying in bed while talking to Leia. But then something clicks.]

He was the one who told Anakin, wasn't he.

He was.

[There's a slight hesitation before she responds, because even with how Poe had treated her and broken her trust and disregarded her feelings, part of her does still want to... well, not quite protect him, but distance herself and her feelings from him. But Obi-Wan had guessed it, and even if she hadn't said anything, she's sure he would've taken that as confirmation.]

And he seemed genuinely shocked to hear Anakin behaved as he did.

[which is just proof of him not understanding the consequences of his actions, because Leia could've told anyone Anakin would've behaved exactly as he did.]

[It was something he had suspected after his conversation with Poe at the lake awhile back. But now Leia had confirmed it. There is a tired sigh on Obi-Wan's end]

His behavior concerns me.

And as far as Ben I paid him a visit as well. Though he already knew I was coming. He refused to turn over the lightsaber.

[It concerns her, too, but she feels that goes without saying. Instead, she focuses on the last part of what Obi-Wan said. She knows Ben often knows when she's coming so that doesn't surprise her.]

I don't see why he needs this particular lightsaber. He has his own already.

[Well. She means his new one, the one built with his crystal, but she doesn't specify beyond that.]

If you're referring to the one he built, yes. Though technically he shouldn't have any at all.

[Obi-Wan knew about that lightsaber and he was already breaching protocol by not informing the other Enforcers about it.]

He believes it's his heritage, or so he has said.

I'm aware of that.

[But she didn't think it was worth notifying anyone about him building it, because she knows the value of having something to defend yourself with. And plus, if he had been able to build one on his own once, he'd be able to do it again just as easily, she's sure.

It's that last part that has Leia frowning, a chill coming through the connection as she does so. She knows Ben's thoughts on Vader, and she hates them and doesn't agree with them in the least.]

He's mistaken. His heritage has nothing to do with that.

[Obi-Wan feels the same way, and that's why he has said nothing about the saber Kylo built. However, now he has two and that was going too far. Regardless of whether he would use it or not. It put Obi-Wan in a difficult position in many ways.]

I know.

Regardless, it is important to him. Though it's not his to have. But I won't take it from him by force.

I don't like him having it.

[More so because of the connection to Vader--the obvious main reason he wants it--than the fact that it's a lightsaber. He doesn't need a second lightsaber, but if it had been any other saber, Leia wouldn't have minded. But this particular one? She minds.]

Are you going to report it to the other enforcers?

[She has mixed feelings on it if so. She doesn't want him to have that saber, but she's of the opinion that Ben's been behaving decently enough that she doesn't want to be even tangentially responsible for him getting more guards placed around him again.]

[The question drew a long pause.]

I don't know.

[He too didn't want Ben to have it. But he also knew that telling the Enforcers could complicate things even more. Then again he was kind of obligated to because of his duty. Leia would likely feel Obi-Wan's own conflicted feelings through the link.]

I did threaten to, yet now I'm uncertain.

[She does, and she understands where he's coming from. And in fact, it's almost a relief to feel that Obi-Wan is on her side about this, about Ben.]

Reporting it will only make things worse for Ben. This aside, he's been cooperating with his punishment and behaving as best he can.

[And somehow she knows he'll find a way to place blame on her, or accuse her of being happy about it if it gets out.]

[He cares about Ben much like he does Anakin. He doesn't like that he's been put into this position.]

I know, and yet if something does happen, part of the blame will fall on me for having known.

[Ben might be cooperating now, but who is to say what will happen down the road? There might even be another incident where he goes out of control against his will. Which wouldn't be his fault but he would have weapons available to him. Then the loth-cat will be out of the bag in the worst way.]

[She knows, and that's the hard part. Because as much as she doesn't want Ben to get back on the bad side of the Enforcers for all this, she similarly doesn't want Obi-Wan in trouble for not immediately confiscating the lightsaber.]

Do you think he'll talk with you about it if you try again?

[Because she knows for a fact he won't talk to her.]

I do think it's possible. Though not right now as I would be the walking plague. But I hope he is taking this time to think about it.

[He would very much like to give Ben every opportunity as he does Anakin. But how long to wait is the real question. For now he had to focus on getting well.]

[She's concerned about the situation with Ben, about Poe's behavior, about all that. But she's just as concerned with the remark about Obi-Wan being the walking plague.]

Are you not feeling well?

I seem to have caught something. It's nothing serious.

[Leave it to Obi-Wan to call himself the walking plague and then downplay it in his next breath.]

[Sorry, Obi-Wan, she's calling you out.]

You just said you felt like the walking plague.

Well... yes. But nothing a bit of rest won't cure.
